Propanc Pty Ltd, established in 2007 in Melbourne, Australia is developing a new anti cancer therapeutic drug that can offer cancer treatment to late stage patients and give them a survival chance without serious side effects. This new anti cancer drug is based on the original work undertaken by John Beard, Embryology Professor at Edinburgh University. He has conducted his cancer research with fresh pancreatic enzyme extracts. The company now wants to commercialize this new drug in an out-patient setting and to market it worldwide. The lead project, cancer drug JBP1, is in the preclinical development stage. Another project POP1, investigates the effect of cancer drug technology on cancer stem cells. And another project RFP1, aims at enhancing efficacy of the drug across different patient populations.

The key business process to be undertaken by Propanc Pty Ltd includes sourcing of existing active biological agents, transforming them to pharmaceutical formulation and scientifically commercializing the proven drug therapy. The Company aims at a cost effective alternative and to exhibit lower toxicity compared to current treatments.

The company has a charter and is run by a board of directors. The Board is chaired by Mr. Douglas Mitchell. Julian Kenyon and James Nathanielsz are the other members. Propanc has a scientific advisory board to review its research and clinical programs with Professors John Smyth, Klaus Kutz and Karrar A Khan as members.

Propanc is seeking additional investors to transform them into a leading oncology player focusing on the introduction of new cancer therapies. The company is allied with a cell biology department at a British University. Propanc’s in-licensing activities include investigating other cancer agents which can offer the patients a long term survival.
